The purpose of creating a ProcessView model is to gain an understanding about process performance and behavior. A model, once composed, can be used as a predictive tool; after all, it is less expensive and less disruptive to experiment with changes to a process model than it is to experiment with the real world process. Once a map has been created and analyzed, it can be easily manipulated to represent alternative scenarios. To determine the impact of proposed process changes, multiple alternative process scenarios may be created. The information in the Compare Report can be used to measure the difference between the current state or baseline performance and an alternative state scenario.
