Detailed Analysis Report – Duration

The Duration Worksheet answers the question ‘how long does it take to move an item from the start to the finish of the process?’.  This worksheet also provides the activity durations sorted from largest to smallest contribution to the process Duration.

The Process Duration is provided at the top of the Duration worksheet.  The activities that make up the process are listed below this in order of contribution to the Process Duration.

In the example shown, the Process Duration is 156.86 minutes.  The activity that contributes the most to this value is ‘Patient Placement’, as is indicated by the ‘Percent’ value.  If there is a process improvement focus on reducing the time to complete the process, this worksheet can be used to identify where improvement actions should be focused to achieve the largest impact on process Duration.
