You can change the name of an activity and its description. As a best practice, you should give an activity a descriptive name that indicates specifically what the activity does. For example, instead of naming an email activity Send an Email, make the name Send an Email to the Employee’s Manager with the Expense Report attached.
Note: |
The name of an activity should not exceed 500 characters. |
The activity’s description should also accurately communicate the type of action the activity performs. The description of an activity is seen when the pointer is placed on the activity in a process.
To change an activity’s name and description, complete the following steps:
-
Check out and open the process.
-
Click the activity for which you want to change the name and description. The activity is highlighted.
-
In the
Design ribbon, click
View Selection Properties. The activity properties window is displayed.
Note: |
You can also view the activity properties window by right-clicking the activity and selecting View Properties. |
-
In the
Name and
Description fields, type a name and description respectively.
Note: |
By default, the General tab is selected. |
-
Click OK. You changed the name and description of an activity.
