Creating and Naming a Solution

The business processes and associated Bluespring elements you design and configure, known as solution items, are contained within a solution.

As a best practice, you should create a new solution for each unique business process. For example, an Expense Report Approval Management solution should not contain the Insurance Claim Processing solution and solution items. Create a solution for both of those business processes.

To create a solution, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Application button. The Application menu opens.
  2. Click New Solution. A solution named New Solution is displayed in the Solution Explorer.
  3. To rename the new solution, click the Solution Properties button on the Home tab. The Set Item Properties window opens.
  4. In the Name field, type the name of the solution.
  5. In the Description field, type a detailed description of the field, so future users understand the purpose of the solution.

    Note:
    Description is an optional field.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click the Application button. The Application menu opens.
  8. Click Save Solution. The solution is now saved.

    Note:
You can add items to a solution before saving the solution, and you will be prompted to save the solution before the other items can be saved. Therefore, as a best practice, save your solution after creating and naming it.
