About
To simplify data model creation, you can create (or import) a data model based on a Microsoft CRM entity's attributes.
Note:
After importing the data model, any changes made to the entity in CRM would also have to be made to the data model. The CRM entity and data model are not connected.
To import a CRM data model, complete the following steps:
Check out the solution.
Click the
Create
tab. The
Solution Items
ribbon menu is displayed.
Click the drop-down arrow below the
New Data Model
button. A drop-down list is displayed.
Click
Import Data Model from CRM Resource
. The
Import Data Model
window is displayed.
Select a resource from the
Select a CRM System Resource
drop-down list.
Type the URL in the
Metadata Service URL
field.
Type the organization in the corresponding field.
Type the user name. password, and domain in the corresponding fields.
Click
Test Connection
. A message will be displayed telling you whether the credentials worked successfully.
Click
Next
. The
Entity and Attribute Selection
tab is displayed.
From the
Select a CRM Entity
drop-down list, select any entity. Attributes are displayed in the
CRM Name
field.
Select the attributes you want to add to the imported data model, and click
Next
.
Click
Finish
. You imported a CRM data model.
