Managing Data Items

Managing data items involves viewing, renaming, and deleting existing data items.

Viewing a Data Item

To view an existing data item, complete the following steps:
  1. In the Solution Explorer pane, right-click the data item. 

  2. Select View. The Manage Solution Data Items tab is displayed. You can now view the data item.
Renaming a Data Item

To rename an existing data item, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out the solution.

  2. In the Solution Explorer pane, right-click the data item you want to rename.

  3. Select View. The Manage Solution Data Items tab is displayed.

  4. In the Name column, select the data item you want to rename.

  5. Delete the current name and type the new name for the data item.

    Note:
    The Rule Engine does not support hyphens in field names.


  6. Click the save button. You renamed a data item.
Deleting a Data Item

To delete an existing data item, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out the solution.

  2. In the Solution Explorer pane, right-click the data item you want to delete.

  3. Select View. The Manage Solution Data Items tab is displayed and the data item is selected.

  4. In the Data Items tab, click Delete Data Item. The Confirm Delete window is displayed.

    Note:
    The Data Items tab is displayed by default in the ribbon menu. If it is not displayed, click the Data Items tab.


  5. Click Yes.

  6. Click the save button. You deleted a data item.
