BPM5 Documentation - Manually Determine which Data Items to Populate with InfoPath Form Field Values

To manually determine which data items to populate with InfoPath form field values, complete the following steps:

Check out and open the process you want to edit.
In the Toolbox pane, click Microsoft Office. A list of activities is displayed.
Double-click or drag the Read InfoPath Form activity into the process.
Link the activity appropriately with other activities in the process.
Right-click the Read InfoPath Form activity. A shortcut menu is displayed.
Select View Properties. The Read InfoPath Form window is displayed.
Click the Input File tab. The corresponding screen is displayed.
In the Input File Location field, select the appropriate input field editor and set the field to a value that is a location where the input template is stored.

Note:

If your input template is referenced by a data item, click Design-time file and credentials and enter the valid credentials for design-time, configuration purposes.

In the Authentication section, select Run as BPM Server or Specify credentials.

Note:

If you select Run as BPM Server, access will be granted or rejected based on the BPM Server credentials.
If you select Specify credentials, complete the Username, Password, and Include domain fields using the appropriate input field editors. The Include domain check box is optional and requires you to select the domain name, if selected.

Click the Form Contents tab. The corresponding screen is displayed.
Select the InfoPath Template Location check box.
In the InfoPath Template Location field, click the File Browser editor icon and select the location where the InfoPath template (*.xsn) is stored.
Select the Manually Map Form Control Values to Data Items check box.
In the Source in form field, click the InfoPath Control List editor icon. A drop-down list is displayed that shows the fields from the InfoPath template selected in step 12.
Select the required form control that you want to read.
In the Destination Data Item field, click the Data Item editor icon and the select the data item you want to populate.

Note:

Calculation data items are read-only. You cannot edit this type of data item.

Note:

You can map more forms with data items by clicking the plus sign (+). Use the minus sign (−) to remove a mapping.
Click OK. You configured the activity to manually determine which data items to populate with InfoPath form field values.
