BPM5 Documentation - Automatically Determining which Columns to Update with Data Item Values

The Process Engine will attempt to match every solution and process data item with a column in the database when automatic mapping is used.

To allow the Process Engine to automatically determine which columns to update with data item values, complete the following steps:

Check out and open the process you want to edit.
Open the update database records activity in the process that you previously configured and now want to edit.
Click the Data Mappings: Update Records tab. The corresponding screen is displayed.
Select the Automatically Map Data Items to Column Fields check box.

Note:

If you also select the Manually Map Data Items to Column Fields check box, then the manual mapping will override any automatic mappings the Process Engine detects.
Click OK. You allowed the Process Engine to automatically determine which columns to populate with data item values.
