Creating a Conditional Link

A conditional link is used when you only want to associate a rule with a link, so the process only takes that path when the result of the Rule's expression is true.

To create a conditional link, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out and open the process you want to edit.

  2. Select the activity from which you want the link to start. The activity is highlighted.

  3. Drag the center of the activity to the other activity to which you want the link to end. A link is displayed between the activities.

  4. Click the link and locate the Links tab in the Design ribbon.

  5. Click the Link Type button and a drop-down list will appear.

  6. Select the Conditional option. You can now select an existing rule to associate with this link.

  7. Choose an existing rule or to create and add a new solution or process rule.

    Note:
The conditional link appears as a dashed line.

  8. Click the save button. You created a conditional link.
