Linking Activities without Business Rules

To run a process, all the activities in the process should be linked appropriately. An activity (other than the Start and End activities) should have at least one parent activity and one child activity. An activity starts when the parent (the preceding) activity is complete.
Note:
If you see an exclamation mark in red against the activity you added, it indicates that the activity’s configuration is not valid, which could be caused by it not having a parent or child activity or by a required field being blank.
To link two activities, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out and open the process you want to edit.

  2. Select the activity you want to link. The activity is highlighted.

  3. Drag the center of the activity to the other activity you want to link. A link is displayed between the activities.

    Note:
After linking the activities, you can bend the link by clicking and dragging one of the handles on the link.

To link multiple activities to an activity, you must use the Join Path activity. The Join Path activity is the only activity that can have multiple parent activities, because it controls whether the process should wait for any or all of the parent activities to complete.

  4. Click the save button. You linked two activities.
