Holding a Process at a Join until specific Parent Activities are Complete

To insert a Join Path activity and hold the process at a point until specific parent activities are complete, complete the following steps:

1.     Check out and open the process.

2.     In the Toolbox pane, click BPM. A list of activities is displayed.

3.     Double-click or drag the Join Path activity into the process.

4.     Link the activity appropriately with other activities.

5.     Right-click the Join Path activity. A shortcut menu is displayed.

6.     Select View Properties. The Join or Split Path window is displayed.

7.     Click the Join Behavior tab. The Wait Options are displayed.

8.     In the Wait Options section, select the Wait on the first predecessor activity where the following rule is true option.

9.     Click the Item Editor and select the Rule that must evaluate to True
Note: you will likely need to create a new Rule for the Join Path Activity.  See: Create Rule for use in a Join Path Activity
to Check if Branches Completed

10.  Click OK. You configured a Join Path activity to hold a process until specific parent activities are complete.
