Setting the Default Process Initiator in a Process

Some processes may require that they be able to start from multiple points between the original Start activity and the End activity of a process. Additional initiators are mainly used with an error handling process that is invoked when an activity encounters an error.

To change the Default Process Initiator, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out and open the process you want to edit.

  2. In the Manage Processes ribbon menu, click Process Properties.  The Set Item Properties window is displayed.

  3. Click the Runtime tab. The Runtime options are displayed.

  4. In the Default Initiator section, select the appropriate activity. The selected activity name is displayed in the field.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click the save button. You set the default process initiator in the process.
