Creating a File-UNC Path Template

To create a document template that references a file on the server or a network share, complete the following steps:
  1. Check out the solution.

  2. Click the Create tab. The Solution Items ribbon menu is displayed.

  3. Select New Document Template. The Document Templates and Properties ribbon menus are displayed. The Document Template screen is displayed in the workspace.

    Note:
In the Properties ribbon menu, Location Internal is selected by default.

  4. In the properties ribbon menu, select Location File/UNC Path. The Document Template screen is displayed.

  5. In the Document Template name field, type a name for the template.

    Note:
If you want to add a description, click the drop-down arrow against the document name. The Description field is displayed. You can now type a description.

  6. In the Document File/UNC Path field, type the path of the document file. For example: C:\Folder\subfolder\filename.ext.

    Note:
You can also select the template file by clicking the Browse icon against this field and select the template.

  7. In Credential Type, select Integrated Credentials or Define Credentials.

    Note:
If you select Integrated Credentials, then the file needs to reside on the Process Engine server, because the Process Engine user, which by default is System Account, is used to access the file. This account cannot access network resources.

If you select Define Credentials, type the appropriate username, password, and domain, in the corresponding fields. The Password field is encrypted after you save, check in, and close the document template.

  8. Click the save button. You created a File/UNC Path document template.
