Setting the Password Required to Open and Read the PDF

If you want to read a password protected PDF using the Read PDF activity, you need to specify the open password and, if encrypted, the permission password in the activity. A PDF may only require a password to open or a permission password.

To set the password required to open and read the PDF, complete the following:
  1. Check out and open the process you want to edit.

  2. Open the Read PDF Form activity in which you want to set the PDF password or passwords.

  3. Click the Security tab. The Security options are displayed.

  4. Select the Document Open Password check box.

  5. In the Document Open Password field, select the appropriate input field editor and set the field to a value that is the password to open the document.

  6. Select the Permission Password check box.

  7. In the Permission Password field, select the appropriate input field editor and set the field to a value that is the password is set to the required permissions for the PDF.

  8. Click OK. You specified the password required to open and read the PDF.
