Populate Form Fields Based on Values in an XML File

You can configure the Populate PDF Forms activity to write values into PDF forms based on the values in an XML file, which is available to your process. The Process Engine will attempt to match XML elements to PDF form fields by matching element names with field names.

To populate form fields based on values in an XML file, complete the following:
  1. Check out and open the process you want to edit.

  2. Open the Populate PDF Form activity in the process that you previously configured and now want to edit.

  3. Click the Data Mapping tab. The corresponding screen is displayed.

  4. Select the Import Form Fields from XML check box.

  5. In the Import Form Fields from XML field, select the appropriate input field editor and set the field to a value that is a file location on your system where the XML file is stored.

  6. In the Authentication section, select the Run as BPM Server or Specify credentials option.

    Note:
If you select Run as BPM Server, access will be granted or rejected based on the BPM Server credentials. If you select Specify credentials, complete the Username, Password, and Include domain fields using the appropriate input field editors.
The Include domain check box is optional.

  7. Click OK. You configured the activity to populate form fields based on values in an XML file.
