With LeanView, value stream path data can be captured using an Excel template and imported to automatically draw a value stream path and populate value path shapes with the appropriate data, all in just a few clicks.
Simply create a new workbook using the LeanView Value Path Walker template. To locate the Value Path Walker template, navigate to the Program Files folder on the C: drive and go to Bluespring LeanView à Templates à Value Path Walker.xlt. Double-click on the Value Path Walker Excel template to launch a new workbook. (If working in version 4 of LeanView, the Value Path Walker workbook can also be created by accessing the Start Menu and selecting All Programs, LeanView à Templates à Value Path Walker.)
Use the Value Path Walker shapes list on the Excel Add-Ins tab to select the shapes needed to compose the value stream path. Simply replace the cell labels with the appropriate lean data. Once a Value Path Walker workbook has been created, access the Import section of the LeanView ribbon and select Value Path Walker. (If working in versions 4 or 5 of LeanView, go to the LeanView menu and select Import à Value Path Walker.)
